Sentimental Journey Dance Camp 2019
About the week, the recital videos, the photo memories
Sentimental Journey
Junior Dance Camp 2019
We want memories of dancing school at Universal to be standout memories forever for our dancers. We will remember our favorite parts of dance camps we have had, of showcases and competitions we have done. We’ll be doing some public speaking on this subject.
Besides the special guests’ lectures and dance lessons, we like to sew, plan, do make-up, practice, learn new things, work with props, play kick ball, get points, do fishbowl, share ideas—that’s a lot to pack into 3 !/2 days.
Our recital, Sentimental Journey will take our dancers to:
Nashville
Meet Our Dancers and Hear Their Sentiments
Wednesday, Anna-Argentine tango; choreography, paso technique, creativity
Thursday, Brian Wells-Country dances, how to create a song, more music with Sue Smith
Friday, make the partner exchange, try the groups for country boogie; try our speeches, practice the creative choreography, exchange photos, review Summer Days and Summertime Blues, practice all the dances
Spain
·NYC (to Studio 54 and to Broadway)
Seashore
We have sewn capes, learned new stuff, done music, created dances, practiced things we know, gone through some memories. It’s a full week when you think about all the variety. It is satisfying to share what we have done this week before we say our last goodbyes for the summer.
Everyone stayed and enjoyed food brought in by Andy, Terry, the mothers. Classes re-start Sept. 6.
Below is a slide show with photos from the mothers, myself, Terry. The memories are important. On recital day, the dancers had lunch then started watching videos of them dancing when "they were little." So funny.

- Everyone, at every level, has a valuable contribution to make. First dancer to enter is supposed to be the greeter; I don’t always get to pay really good attention, but I think they do this. We occasionally get a new dancer; this summer we got Alanna and we are happy to welcome her.
